Vision of Jinju City
Jinju has established 13 projects for fostering creative industries, 10 projects for creative talent development, 9 projects for constructing creative atmosphere, 8 projects for strengthening international exchange. We will implement 45 core projects and detailed implementation plans.
First, to foster creative industries such as the creative tourism industry, performing arts industry, craft industry, and silk industry, Traditional Arts Performance Theater and Gallery of Jinju Local Product will be built.
Second, to strengthening the industrial-academic cooperation with local universities, we will continuously cultivate creative talents in the fields of crafts, folk arts and silk by granting scholarships and offering international exchange programs.
Third, to construct creative atmosphere, Jinju will systematically prepare dissemination programs and build a Citizens’ Creative Center to provide opportunities for the citizens to enjoy the cultural assets and resources of Jinju and to participate in creative activities in various fields.
Fourth, to promote international exchange, the World Folk Arts Biennale will be held to strengthen international exchange in the field of folk arts and to support the access of folk arts of developing countries to the international stage.
Finally, to establish a support system, the Jinju Creative Industry Promotion Agency will be established to activate the creative industries and to supervise various supporting projects. Also, city council meetings will be organized to promote citizens’ active participation and collect creative ideas needed for the operation of the Creative City Promotion Plan.
